As of late, the most "happening" place to be is Northern Pakistan. Whether for work, vacationing or a simple break, you will find everyone making memories among the mountains and appreciating what our country has to offer.
Northern Pakistan is famed for its scenic beauty and sights, as well as the weather. If you want a break from the stress of city life, the North is a wonderful destination to frequent, it's only a (long) ride away (from Lahore and Islamabad)! Areas such as Hunza, Skardu, Swat, Naraan, Kagaan, Passu, Gilgit-Baltistan or even Nathia-Gali, the options are endless when it comes to picking a beautiful place to visit.
Preparing for the summer season, the Northern Areas expected an influx of tourists and travelers, especially after the intense lockdown period after which the COVID-19 travel restrictions were lifted. Going 'up north' started to become a trend that never lost its hype!
Most recently we've seen celebrities such as Iqra Aziz and model Eman Suleman enjoying nature in the North, despite the increasingly chilly weather. Previously, it seemed as if every body from the fraternity was there, including designers such as Deepak Perwani, Wardha Saleem or singers such as Momina Mustehsan and even actors! Including Mashal Khan, Sonya Hussyn, Ali Rehman, Junaid Khan, Mawra and Urwa Hocane, to name a few.
Not only have we been intrigued by enthralling snaps boasting our country's natural beauty, but there is a sense of pride in advertising and showcasing Pakistan's mountainous resources which have grown immensely in popularity since the post-coronavirus era.
Why the North?
The North does not only provide an aesthetic background for the Instagram family but it's the ideal place to go if you want to clear your head, admire nature and detox from the pressures of city life. With a lovely escape from pollution, loud noise and clutter, Northern Pakistan is simply a dream, where there is no need for an air conditioner or internet connection. The landscape, nature and overall atmosphere in Northern Pakistan differs greatly from the city life, providing comfort for the soul and a 'recovery period' which can be vital for cognitive functioning.
No wonder yoga retreats and trekking pose to be healthy for the body and the mind. If you ever feel like going on a reasonably priced vacation without leaving your country, do explore options in Northern Pakistan and you may be more than pleasantly surprised!
