Winter is here and we have the best hot chocolate recipe!
What I really love about December? Well it’s not the endless weddings I keep being dragged too and not the cold! What I do however enjoy indulging in is a routine that I am now addicted too! Coming home from work, wrapping myself in a cozy blanket and sipping on a frothy creamy hot chocolate to warm myself up! It is super easy to make and so so delicious! The perfect comfort drink this December.
You’ll be sipping on this within 5 minutes!
Ingredients ( 4 mugs)
Nutella: 3 Tablespoons Cocoa Powder: ½ tablespoon Milk: 750 ml ½ milk pak whipping cream 2 Tsp Icing sugar Dash of vanilla essence
Method: In a saucepan, over medium heat, add your milk and let it simmer. (Don’t let it boil as milk burns and sticks to the pan quickly. Also, I would recommend going with full fat cream milk as it will give your hot chocolate a creamier texture) Once simmering, add in your Nutella and cocoa powder and immediately start whisking so that it is blended easily and starts frothing. You can do this with a whisk or even an electric hand mixer. Reduce heat on low and let it sit while you whip up your cream.
(Note: if you are looking for an even extra creamy version, you can add cream in with the Nutella and cocoa powder and whisk)
In a separate bowl, whisk together some whipping cream with 2 teaspoons of icing sugar and your vanilla essence till its fluffy and medium stiff peaks form. Serve immediately by pouring your hot chocolate into the mugs and topping it with fluffy heaps of cream! If you’re feeling extra cheeky, sprinkle some cocoa powder or grated chocolate over the cream and dare I say, add marshmallows?
